I didn’t change anything in the system, (at least it seems to me that way), but my IDE freezes for several seconds on different options, for example, when choosing a sketch or loading or saving a file or when pressing a key combination for compilation(Ctrl+R), etc.
How do I find a reason?

There are multiple probable causes.
Turn of any additional security / antivirus (only for testing) If it helps add the Arduino install locations to the security's exclusions / whitelist.
Using cloud based / network install locations for the IDE.
Uninstall and re-install to a local drive only.
Network issues such as corporate / educational / free wifi use.
talk to the IT people to get proper access or turn OFF in the IDE the check for updates option.
