A few programs ran OK with the IDE installed program, but the error appears in all of them now.
Same programs run in the non-IDE version work OK/

Hi @w4ghv. Please provide the full and exact text of the error message.
What were you doing when you got the error? For example: compiling, uploading.
It is not clear to me what you mean by "non-IDE version".
What is the "non-IDE version"?
Which exact version of the Arduino IDE are you using when you get the error?
The "non-IDE" is the original or common version. Latest version.
I downloaded the latest fancy IDE version (release candidate) and was excited to use it. That is the one with the connect error.
Googling connect2.exe says there is a 'second exe' running. I see nothing unusual in task manager. I reboot and start over and get the same error compiling all programs.
I'll remove and re install the IDE version.

Solved the connect2.exe error on ArduinoV2.0!
I used Windows 10 Manager to clean up all old files and delete all the temp subdirectories.
That fixed it!
