Hey there, im very new to the Arduino world, I downloaded the arduino IDE 1.0.6 and 1.5.8 and both just load the splash screen and then nothing happens. I run windows 7 64bit Ive looked over the forums and other places to try and resolve the issue, so far I have tried to run the .exe as admin no difference, I read something about disabling visual themes in compatibility, I tried that, no difference. I got javara and removed java runtime still does the same thing. anybody have any more idea`s?? I see that some ppl have tried to launch from command line and attached the debug, but I cant seem to get that to work. any help would be appreciated, thanks!!
I think the Arduino 1.5.8 runs on Windows 7 without installing something else.
Do you try to run the Arduino from within the zipped file ?
Are you sure you have waited until the complete Arduino file was downloaded ?
So all the Java is removed with JavaRa ? That is good.
Please also uninstall Arduino, and you might remove the "C:\Program Files (x86)\Arduino" folder.
Download the Arduino IDE 1.5.8 as a zip file and unzip it, and run it from that folder.
If that doesn't work, try another computer.

I'm glad I could help. A few have still problems after doing that, but I think they might have a bad harddisk or bad Windows 7.
