Arduino IDE not showing output after upload

I'm trying to get the information provided by a ADXL335 accelerometer using the Arduino UNO board, the code is fine because it works on my friend's laptop but when i try to run it in mine it shows the following output, when instead, i should be getting the actual X, Y and Z values of the acceleration:

It sounds like you're trying to upload the code and not connect to it over the serial monitor. But maybe I'm missing something. Also, a code upload could work on one system and not another due to different libraries, versions, OS support, etc.

To recap, are you trying to open the serial monitor to view the values via USB serial connection?

that was it!! Thanks a looot, i'm very new to arduino so the IDE itself and the way it works is still kinf of confusing to me, the serial monitor option displays the info :slight_smile:
