Arduino IDE serial monitor and VR module advice

I have been using the dfrobot Offline Voice recognition module (SEN0539) in I2C mode - and have noticed a problem with the custom wake-up (start) word - I have loaded a custom wake-up keyword and the following happens:- At first the custom wake-up phrase works 95% of the time - then after around 10-12 minutes, I have to say the same custom wake-up phrase 7 to 9 times before it activates? Now if I switch off and then back on the Arduino IDE serial monitor it seems to reset and the keyword starts to work again for the next ten minutes. On the dfrobot forum others are having the same problem (since 2023), but dfrobot have never provided a fix.

Do any of you experts know what bytes (characters) are sent to the VR module (from the IDE) when the serial monitor (screen) starts? - my idea is to do send these every ten minutes or so. I can set up a timer that emulates the serial monitor starting to the VR module?

Many thanks in advance for any advice/help anyone can provide!

Tony
