Arduino IDE Takes at least 70 sec. to do anything

Hi there im having problems with the IDE, is takes 70 seconds to load then gives an error msg. "problem loading" but then opens!
then when i load a sketch(saved or demo...) is takes another 70 sec, and another, compiling, and another uploading!, thats 280sec!
i tried running in compatibility mode, i dont know what to da anymore :astonished:

Well, telling us what you're trying to load the IDE on would be useful.
Do you have any bluetooth devices?

That sounds like needing the updated rxtxSerial.dll file. The corrected fix for that file should be somewhere in one of the many posts on the subject?

I found the IDE very slow when I had bluetooth enabled, as the IDE looks for serial ports, your bluetooth is being polled as is normally slow. Disable it and you'll be good

Install the correct rxtxSerial.dll, and you'll be good AND you won't have to disable anything.

i had the exact same problem on a machine with NO BLUETOOTH, and finally tracked it down to the arduino IDE having a bit of a tiff with my anti-virus software (Panda Anti-Virus).

try disabling your anti-virus software and see if the problems with the arduino IDE go away. if that fixes it, then... (i have found no other good solution)
