Arduino Installation Ubuntu 10.04

Hi everyone,
Just I have received the Arduino Uno Kit, and I want to install in in Ubuntu 10.4? please help me what to do.
I will appreciate a lot if there is step by step installation and test guide

Its linked from the Ubuntu instructions on the playground. Got a nice email the other day from someone in France thanking me for it.

Yes, it works on 10.04, it says so on the page. I originally did it on 10.04 and use it on 10.04 myself now. It would probably work on the newer 11.X versions with a bit of adjustment allowing for the new interface.
