Arduino Iot Cloud connecting device

I am struggling to connect my esp8266 to the Arduino IoT cloud and was wondering if anyone had any tips on figuring this out?

So what I have tried to accomplish was to just set up my Adafruit feather ESP8266 to the Arduino IoT clod but what continues to happen is it doesn't allow me to upload my code. I believe it has something to do with it being offline, but I can still upload code on my standard Arduino platform.

Please post the full and exact text of any error or warning messages you might be getting when you try to upload to the ESP8266.

Update the solution was I didn't select the correct port within my IoT editor hope this can help others!
