My Arduino UNO board no longer has its LED light switched on because of this error message

Sketch uses 1984 bytes (6%) of program storage space. Maximum is 32256 bytes.
Global variables use 188 bytes (9%) of dynamic memory, leaving 1860 bytes for local variables. Maximum is 2048 bytes.
avrdude: ser_open(): can't open device "\\.\COM1": The system cannot find the file specified.

Problem uploading to board.  See http://www.arduino.cc/en/Guide/Troubleshooting#upload for suggestions.

This report would have more information with
"Show verbose output during compilation"
option enabled in File -> Preferences.

What is the cause of this error and what needs to be done to solve it?

Try selecting the ACTUAL com port as COM 1 is usually an invalid choice for an Arduino.

Double check in DEVICE MANAGER for the one you want in the IDE.
