I've recently got my first Arduino kit and I was trying to make a project using LCD. The problem is, Arduino turns off when I connect the GND and 5V to the Breadbord! This is the project I'm trying to make.
Sounds like you are grounding the 5V line.
What can I do to resolve it? By the way, thanks for the attention.

What can I do to resolve it?
Draw a clear diagram of your wiring connections and post a photo of the drawing.
Also post a photo of the breadboard with the connections, but the drawing is most important.
Don't connect the Leonardo to the breadboard until you have sorted this out - it may get damaged.

Thanks to you all, I resolved it. I did a single modification in the wiring and it worked! Anyway, thanks for the attention! ![]()
Hi,
To me it looks like the pot is connected wrong, and pin-1 of the LCD is only connected to the pot and not also 5V+ this may be where the short is?

Mel.
