Arduino Mega 1280 + Bluetooth Question

Hi,

I have the Arduino Mega 1280.

Just wondering if it's possible to add Bluetooth to this device? I'm looking at controlling the arduino board via bluetooth from an iPhone.

I did a search on the forum but didn't find any info for the mega 1280.

Thanks in advance, David

The ability to connect a bluetooth device to an Arduino has nothing to do with the type of Arduino that you have. It appears to be more a matter of luck and perseverance.

So I worked it out incase anybody has found this page with the same problem.

On the Bluetooth Mate Gold, connect: GND to ground on the Arduino. VCC to 5v or 3ve on Arduino. TX-0 to RX on Arduino (in the COMMUNICATION output section, next to PWM) RX-1 to TX on Arduino (in the COMMUNICATION output section, next to PWM)

and follow the tut here to test it out :) http://jondontdoit.blogspot.com.au/2011/11/bluetooth-mate-tutorial.html

btw it appears iPhone won't connect to anything bluetooth unless it is a handsfree device, so if you want to control Arduinos you will need to use Android (unless you jailbreak the iPhone maybe?)
