Arduino Mega 2560 detecting issue

Hi, I bought an Arduino Mega 2560 from Elegoo about a month ago. I know that is not "original", but i can confirm that Elegoo products are good.

Anyway, it's from yesterday that my computer doesn't recognize this board, i don't know why. I checked and there are no shorts between 5V and GND and the board works.

The cable and the USB ports of my computer works, I connected another board and the computer recognized it. Also, other devices can't detect it.

Can someone help me with this problem? I think is a problem related to the driver.

Thanks.

How do you know the board works?

Giving it power with a 12 Volt battery, it runs the code that I uploaded to it yesterday.

Try the loopback test:

Since the board is not recognized, I'm sure the loopback will fail.

I really can't do the test if I can't even get the board to communicate with the computer.

Absolutly true.
I don't think I can help.

Are there drivers for this Arduino?

They are part of the IDE

More than likely the USB to UART IC (ATmega16U2, the little IC) was damaged but the Mega2560 is still OK.
