Arduino mega 2560 pro embed heating after 1 minute

Hi,
Just buyed an Arduino mega 2560 pro embed, I installed the CH340G driver, I tried the blink program, it worked fine for a minute or two, then it turned off and it was hot all on the micro usb side.
I tried again, same scenario, here is my board:

Please help, thank you.

Do you have anything connected to the board ? How are you powering it?

Either the board is defective, or you had external devices connected to it drawing far too much current (or maybe connected it to external supply improperly?)

Board is defective. Contact the vendor to request replacement/refund.

Thank you for your answer, I contacted the vendor and he didn't accept neither to remplace nor refund, he said I can't prove I am not the one who damaged it. Any clue on how to fix the board???

Hi,
This is an update,
So the board was actually defective, the heating component was the 5V/1A regulator, I don't know if that can be fixed.

Thank you to everyone who answered.

Hi,

My mega 2560 pro mini board was heating up too (nothing plugged in except the USB to PC).

I fixed the problem by removing AMS1117 regulator IC located at near the Vin, GND, 5V pins.
This is a quick fix - I will look into what is causing this fault. This is the 4 conductor part below the diode near usb connector. Some soldering skill may be required to remove this part.

Hope this helps.
