Arduino Mega 2560 suddenly not working

This device is not getting recognized suddenly. I was using it only a few hours back.

The UNO is working perfectly fine but Mega 2560 is not. It is original.

The computer says not recognized. "Unknown device".
The lights are working.

Device status:
Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)

In the Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\System line, Ports (COM & LPT) line is not even there.

My project is due in a few days. Please help.

I saw a 2013 post on the forum but, no solution was given.

Remove the device from device manager, and delete the driver when asked. unplug the Mega, restart the machine, and re-insert the mega, reinstall the driver if detected, if not, then it's probably broke.
