Arduino Mega 2560 w/ RS232 Shield

Hello,

I am using this shield: RS232 Shield

With Arduino MEGA 2560.

But I really cant put it to receive anything.

The test program is: Test.ino

I already tried to set another port in RX, TX. but still nothing.

But I really cant put it to receive anything.

What are you connecting it to?

Hello Grumpy.

I am connecting a Hardware that have a RS232 comunication. it is working, I can test directly in PC.

I think it is something with the Shield because it should blink TX, RX led. but it doenst happen.

Do you know what ports I should use for Arduino Mega?

Ex: SoftwareSerial mySerial(10, 11); // RX, TX

I think it is something with the Shield because it should blink TX, RX led. but it doenst happen.

No it shouldn't. The blinking of the TX & RX LEDs is done by the Serial / USB drivers in the PC not by the Arduino or shield.

Do you know what ports I should use for Arduino Mega?

The Mega has 4 serial ports on it.

The Arduino Mega has three additional serial ports: Serial1 on pins 19 (RX) and 18 (TX), Serial2 on pins 17 (RX) and 16 (TX), Serial3 on pins 15 (RX) and 14 (TX).

Depending on if your RS232 device is DTE or CTE you have to connect RX to RX and TX to TX or TX to RX and RX to TX. See this link:- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Data_terminal_equipment
