Arduino Mega, CH340G works with windows XP but not windows 7 ??!!??

Hi All,

I bought a mega clone from ebay that uses the ch340g. I initially thought this was broken because I kept getting time out errors from it when using it with the arduino IDE (1.6.5) and windows 7.
I've found if I use the same IDE on windows XP and the same exe driver file to install the ch340g driver it works perfectly.

Could this be a probllem with the driver for windows 7?

Can it be fixed?
