Hi Sir,
I am Planning to design the custom board with Arduino official Circuit which is taken from the link:
The Circuit which i referring is:
MEGA2560_Rev3e_sch.pdf (102.2 KB)
Is this the Latest circuit of arduino Atmega2560. Kindly let us know.

Hi sir,
Kindly refer the marked schematic from the Mega2560 Schematic. What is the purpose of using this comparator with FET and 3.3V regulator. Kindly let us know. I have attached that schematic part.
Hi Sir,
The External Crystal used in the Arduino Mega board circuit. Part number:CSTCE16MOV53-RO , 16 Mhz Crystal with Inbuilt 15 pf capacitor in it. Can we use the16 Mhz crystal Partnumber: ECS-160-20-4X-DU used in the Atmega16U2 controller with 22Pf External startup capacitor for Atmega2560 IC? Kindly let us know.
The one in Arduino Mega 2560 Rev3 — Arduino Official Store should be the latest; so that is https://content.arduino.cc/assets/MEGA2560_Rev3e_sch.pdf (which might be the same as yours or might not be the same as yours).
There is an other relevant part related to this. Vin goes to a regulator that creates 5V to power the Mega.
The comparator controls the FET. If you use Vin, it prevents that the 5V from the 5V regulator flows back into the USB port of the PC if both USB and the 5V regulator supply the 5V.
I'm not sure what you're asking. Although this type of electronics is not my strong point, if you're asking if you can use one crystal for both the 16U2 and 2560, the answer is (to my knowledge) no.
Yes. Same Circuit.

If i use the only Vin supply to the regulator that creates 5V to Power the mega. There is no need for this comparator and FET & 3.3V circuitry. am i right Sir?

No. I am not asking to use the same 16 Mhz External Crystal for both Atmega2560 and ATmega16u2.
Atmega 2560 circuit ---> CSTCE16MOV53-RO with inbuilt 15pf capacitor
Atmega16U2 circuit --> ECS-160-20-4X-DU with external 22 pf capacitor.
I am asking, Can i use this 16 Mhz Crystal Part number: ECS-160-20-4X-DU with External 22Pf capacitor for Atmega 2560 ic?
That's correct.
I don't know the answer to that; as said, "this type of electronics is not my strong point".
Hi Sir, Thanks for the reply. I found this 16 Mhz External Crystal Part Number used in the Atmega 2560 circuit: CSTCE16MOV53-RO is obsolete. So i asked this.
