I'm currently working on a project, and i'm trying play some audio files. I've downloaded some librairies and bought a SD reader chip from Adafruit, and it all seems to work just fine.
The only problem i had is that the volume was pretty low, because my arduino couldnt give enough current to the speaker. (I put a resistor in Series with the speaker so i had a current of about 30mA, to not destroy my board )
Now, i bought a new adafruit chip to amplify the signal coming from the Arduino, but this chip recieves the audio from a AUX cable. Now i've noticed that in an AUX, the is a ground, but also 2 wires( mostly red/white)
What should i do?
Connect only 1 wire with my audio output?
connect both?
ground one?
i've tried looking this up on the all-knowing Google, but, i didnt really find an answer.
What kind of cable/connector? It could be stereo (left, right, ground).
I assume the Arduino is putting-out mono. In that case, you only need two conductors. If the amplifier is stereo and you're connecting two speakers, connect the left & right inputs together.* You can do that at the Arduino-end (connecting the red & white conductors together) or at the amplifier-end.
...Usually "Aux" inputs/outputs on a TV or stereo system use RCA connections with a separate connector/cable for left & right.
