Arduino Metro Mini Not Detected by PC (drivers installed) [Solved]

hi!

i am very new to this and I've been able to use an Arduino trinket before but i recently purchased a Metro Mini as i saw very good reviews but i am struggling to get the drivers working.

I am working off a Windows 10 Pro x68. I've installed the two drivers needed as per the website.(see image). but i cant get my PC to read the chip. I've tried multiple drivers, i've checked Device Manager but nothing happens when i plug and unplug the device.

am i missing something? I am getting no COM port or anything under the Universal Serial Bus controller. I also have the Arduino program up to date (1.8.12).

Also note that the Metro mini does blink and light up when plugged in. i purchased two of them and they both seem to work fine, i just cant get my PC to recognize the COM Ports.

EDIT---

After multiple attempts and following this guide.

I was able to identify the usb as 'Unknown USB Device' i tried manually installing the FTDI Driver (I had to manually selected it from the available drivers) but no luck. it was never in the Ports Sections to begin with so i am guessing this is why?

After spending the whole day researching i am feeling defeated as i cant seem to figure this out. it seems like it would be something silly am missing. I've included images of the Device Manager and what i suspect to be the metro mini.

please help!
