Arduino Micro Board Life time

Hello Arduino,

We are building a new Smart Device based on the ARDUINO Micro, and I am wondering what is the life time for the Arduino Micro board, How long we have before it get dicontinued .
Please inform me or guide me to where can I find this informations ?

thanks

Try asking Arduino company, not the user's forum. Try asking China that makes knockoffs. Or Microchip who own the AVR chip line.

Consider that the Intel 8051 MCU from the 70's is still being made in compatible forms by many makers. It fits a niche as does the ATmega328P on the Arduino Micro. As long as the 328P is made in SMT package, someone will be making Micros.

10 years from now, we might not have a world much less Arduinos.

The 32u4, you mean. The Micro uses the USB-capable processor like the Leonardo.

I was thinking of the Mini and screwed it up!

But really the chips are not obsolete and the boards are open source.
