Arduino micro not recognized

I am having issue getting a computer to pick up an Arduino micro board. I believe that I have eliminated drivers because I was able to successfully connect to a different micro board as well as an UNO board. Below are the conditions I am experiencing.

  • RX and TX always on.
  • I am unable to view the board in the device manager.
  • The board is appears to be unresponsive to a reset. I have tried pressing the button when powered on as well as holding the reset while powering the board.
  • No response for PC as far as I can tell for PC when board is connected.

Make sure the USB cable is fully inserted into the Micro and the computer.

You might have a damaged, defective, or charge-only USB cable. Try a different cable.

I have tried multiple cables however it does not seem to be the issue. I successfully managed to connect another device using the same cable. Other ideas?
