Arduino Micro wont show up on Windows 7

Hello all,
I recently purchased an Arduino Micro from RadioShack and cannot seem to get it to connect to my computer. I have verified that the USB cable is good, and when I plug it in, the blue light on the micro lights up, but Windows does not make the 'device connected' sound. I have downloaded all of the latest drivers and have even attempted to install them manually, but when I do, device manager just shows an error next to the device which reads "This device cannot start. (Code 10)". I've spent hours searching the web for answers, hopefully one of you has one! Is it just a bad board and do I need to return it?

Thanks much!

Exactly which device shows the error?
Just checking whether you have the same issue as I do.

I manually installed the driver for the Arduino Micro. I tried the Micro Bootloader too, but it had the same result (code 10).
