arduino mini pro Power question

I want to upload only one sketch to my arduino mini pro and then use it in my project.

Is it possible to power the Arduino mini pro with only the + and - from a stripped USB cable going to RAW and GND?

or do i need to get the USB - serial converter and attach it to the board?

Thank you,

Thank you,

If your CPU runs at 3.3 Volts then
yes you can simply apply, more than, 3.3 Volts to RAW & GND.

If the Pro Mini is the 5V version, then you want the USB power connected to the 5V rail, not RAW.

Thank you both for your help.

I will try this tonight and let you know how it goes.

Thanks again,

Joe
