arduino motor question

i was wondering how would i hook up a small hobby servo motor to the arduino. i know i need a MOSFET but do you know a specific part number, manufacturer and other some other specs.

Depends on the motors specifications voltage current. IRF540 is a reasonable N channel MOSFET. http://www.irf.com/product-info/datasheets/data/irf540n.pdf

Hobby servos need nothing but the Servo library and one output pin.

Fullblown servomotors are a whole different game, but hobby servos use a pulse-width coding to control them and a suitable power supply (~6V at 1A or thereabouts usually)

Below is a typical servo connection to an arduino. If one wants to use a MOSFET driven by the arduino, a logic level MOSFET is probably best.

If it is actually a servo, then you don’t need a MOSFET.
