A quick question. I have a brand new motor shield that IC4 gets VERY hot immediately even when only the Uno board is powered thru the USB port. That is, NO other source is connected to the motor shield. Also, I get very low resistance from pins 2 and 19 of the driver ship to pins 4,5 and 6 of IC4. It's safe to assume that IC4 is shorted, but can I remove that hip and still be able to use the rest of the board?
.. and I have a car, which sounds strange sometimes, when opening the door ...

Describe your problem so, that everybody can understand what it is all about.
There are dozens of different kinds of motor shields on the market, and a lot of IC4's as well, sometimes mounted in a car, sometimes in an electric oven, in radios ...
Same old BS that's on the other forums. I guess the heading on the subject line that says 'Arduino motor shield means nothing. Moreover, the schematic I have download from this site only has a mark of 'IC4' for the op amp. If you don't know the answer why waste the ink?
