Hello , Can anyone confirm , from how much distance nano 33 mic can capture sound/ voice commands?
Thanks
No.
No one can confirm this because it depends on how loud you shout.
What sort of distance are you looking for?
If board is 20 meters away in a room with no noise, can It detect my voice clearly for any sort of voice recoginition task.
So my question was , 10 20 30 or how much meters is ok to use this board? what can be Max rang
Thanks
PS : Its working fine in 3 to 5 meters Range
Back away from the microphone to check larger ranges, and let us know how it goes.
Please post a link to the voice recognition code you are using.
I am recording samples Using Edge Impluse
It depends on the echoes you will get from such a large room. I would doubt it but try for yourself.
The mic preamp generates (electrical) noise. Usually it's a hiss or hum, or sometimes "digital whine". As the signal gets weaker the signal-to-nose ratio gets worse and at some point it will start interfering with voice recognition and/or the noise can dominate.
You can increase the gain of the preamp but the signal and noise get boosted together.
...And there is always SOME acoustic noise, although a soundproof recording studio can be very-quiet and an anechoic chamber can be below 0dB SPL so quieter than anything you can hear... until you start breathing.
The actual overall system signal to noise ratio of a system is mainly governed by the S/N ratio of the first amplifier. So with a good preamplifier you can improve the overall noise performance.
Still waiting for the link to the VR code. The Nano 33 BLE has a MEMS microphone. You can not add a preamplifier to it.
The OP claims to be using a commercial service for voice recognition, so the Nano 33 is just a microphone interface. Edge Impulse
Boring.
