So I just got this new nano 33 IoT board and I've uploaded only one sketch to it. I put it in a bread board with a 12V battery pack going into VIN. I had to adjust my code but now it won't connect to the computer via USB. Additionally, the processor gets very hot when powered. What's happened? can I fix this?
I've tried plugging into different ports/computers. As well as swapping USB cables. The reset button does nothing as well as pressing it twice in succession.
I should also add that the code I uploaded was from Arduino IoT Cloud.
It's never a good sign if something gets very hot. Is it the processor that gets very hot or something on the board?
Does it still get very hot when take it out of the breadboard and connect it to USB only.
You might have connected the 12V the wrong way around (swapped plus and minus). Or misjudged the lineup of the pins. Or connected something else by accident to the Vin which blew up and carried the 12V to a GPIO pin.
A clear photo of your connections on the breadboard at the moment that it went wrong might help.
I can't do the research now; what is the spec for Vin?
I doubt very much that it's fixable.
