So i got myself a new genuine Arduino Nano but my PC doesnt wanna recognize it as a COM Port. It works fine on my Laptop but on my PC it shows up under "Other devices" as "FT232R USB UART" in the device manager. On both my Laptop and my PC im using USB3.0 ports. Ive eard people say that thats the Issue but it worked on 3.0 on the Laptop.
Things ive already tried:
connecting to a 2.0 port on my PC
Manually installing drivers: If i try that on the PC Windows gives me an error
Connecting a Mega2560 which works just fine (even one from ali express)
Updating my PCs chipset driver ,USB 3.0 Drivers are up to date as well i think
Yes, I was aware you said that. I did not want to steal his topic so I was going to wait and see if he gets the same thing I got: "Windows failed to install the driver" error.
@M4A3E8-Sherman nope its fairly new... Well actually come to think of it its like 3 years old but i wouldnt say that thats the issue here. At first i thought its my USB Drivers and i still think that could be it but they all seem up to date
In my case it just seems on some computers windows refuses to install the drivers... My best bet would be to get some Elegoo Nanos and use those with the CH340G driver. It does install... I have 3 Elegoo Nanos and all three of them work fine... Or you can try to find a different FT232R driver..... Don't know how well that will work.
Ill just use the Nano on my Laptop since it works there. Its just a bit inconvenient since my PC workspace is more comfortable than the area where i use my laptop. I am still able to program the Mega2560 with my PC so thatll have to do.
Also Thank you. I hope your solution works for you.
