ARDUINO NANO driver problem on WIndows 7

Hi,
My Arduino Nano board doesn't get installed on WIndows 7 OS.
Tired of manually installing different drivers one by one...
None of them worked.

Need help/

Well go directly to the FTDI web site and locate the applicably version for their FT232R chip.

Well,

I visited the website VCP Drivers - FTDI
and downloaded the VCP driver for windows 64 bit driver -- 2.10.00
Did not help....

Anybody out there who has resolved this problem???
Help please....

Board : Nano
Recognized as "Unknown device"
When tried to update the driver .... exclamation mark does not go away.
The "COM/LPT Port" section in Device manager is not present /////
I tried all possible thing I could.

Tried "Add legacy hardware" option... and then selecting com/lpt port and pointed it to "Arduino Due Programming port"
It installed... but yellow exclamation mark present here also...

Uninstalled ...installed several times.... no effect...

Is your Windows version 64 bit? 32 bit?
I can send you the FTDI driver version I use for 32 bit later tonight.

Hey CrossRoads ,
Appreciate your help.

My windows is 64 bit,
But apparently I found out a solution... though it doesn't seem correct..

I plugged in the board to the computer and took the board in hand and looked carefully at FT232RL chip pins and momentarily shorted pin number 18 and 19 with a multimeter prod and BINGO!!! the board started working ...
COM 14 port started showing up under PORT (COM & LPT) section of device driver and exclamation mark on
"USB Serial Device" vanished.
Pin no 18 is GND and Pin no 19 is RESET#
Only problem is now, I have to carry out resetting every time I connect the board to computer.

Thinking of soldering a 0.1uF cap between those pins to help it reset every time automatically...

For now... I am enjoying with my sketches....

Cheers!!
