Arduino Nano low power

Hi,

I am trying to get my Arduino nano (V 3.0) to below 1 mA usage while sleeping (power down mode).

i disabled the power LED and directly appliad 5V to VIN.

Currently I am at 2.5 mA while sleeping. Any idea where the power is lost? Is it the 3.3V regulator? Or the serial chip?

I am not really sure how to modify it to get to my goal of 1 mA during sleep. Any ideas?

I'm in the same boat, looking to save power but have a 5v nano! Did you ever find any gudance?

If you have a stable 5V supply, go to the 5V pin, not the VIN pin because on the VIN pin it will go through the LVR which results in system voltage a bit over 4V That step needs some power too.

Is it the 3.3V regulator? Or the serial chip?

If "serial chip" means the FTDI on the board, both is the same as on the Nano 3V3 is provided by the FT232R. According to the datasheet the FTDI consumes 70µA if USB is not used, so a very small part of your 2.5mA is for that chip.
