Arduino nano not recognized as gaming controller

Hello,

bought my first arduino nano but i'm having problem using arduino as farming sim controller. The problem is that my pc cant find arduino as controller. it is shown as "USB serial port (COM3)" in device manager. It's a legit arduino nano with ft232rl chip. I can upload my sketch to arduino and can see that its basically working thru serial monitor, but still pc cant find it.

I have tried to change the drivers manually, I downloaded all the drivers from FTDI. In devices and printers it is shown as " not defined" and name is FT232R USB UART.

I also tried with two different cable, all pc ports (usb 3.0 and usb 2.0). Downloaded IDE to another laptop but same problem.

Also tried it with another sketch if that matters.

Now I need some tips and help because this problem is driving me mad. Can an arduino be faulty or is there something else to test?

Welcome to the forum

Where did you find the information that the classic Nano can be used as a game controller ?

I never heard that it wasn't suitable for this kind of use :open_mouth:

So i asume i will never get it to connect with pc?

Is there a list what models can be used for this kind of project?

Did you ever hear that it is good for this kind of use ?

You can use a Micro or Leonardo as well as some of the newer boards

Well i dont remember, but probably not. I propably taught that all arduinos are suitable for this kind of use ,

Thanks for telling me where the problems is! Probably wouldn't never taught having wrong model.
