Hi team,
This is my first time on a forum, and to be clear I'm extremely new to this and electronics. I'm also not that tech savvy.
I work for a facilities maintenance company in Australia, and wanted to design a relatively cheap/cost effective HVAC Preventative Maintenance data monitoring system.
I've looked at the Nano RP2040 Connects as the possible brains of the project. Primarily I would like to start with monitoring 1 - 5 Ducted HVAC systems, all at different locations but with wifi capabilities.
Simple variables to start with like on/off status, temperature/humidity, air flow volume if possible.
I guess I just wanted to know if anyone has had any success with setting something like this up, what components I would need and lastly if it is possible.
Reading some of these topics I might be a little out of my depth with codes and sketches but I'm willing to try.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated and thank you for taking the time to read this.

Oh ok thank you for your help.
Start small.
Get one node working ‘wired’, so you know what’s needed, and how it’s done.
Then add wireless connectivity to that one node…
Finally, expand that single node with an array of nodes.
Certainly, great advice.
Sometimes I can be a bit optimistic. I have looked at a few options and I think it's incredible what that device can deploy data wise, it's just putting it together.
Not sure that "wired" is a good idea.
If you intend to use WiFi, for which ESP8266s are the "go", best to start with it. Ethernet connectivity with Arduinox is just too messy.
Fair enough, the idea was obviously to start with as few kinks as possible
SinceESP is so easy to connect, that’s a good suggestion.
I just watched a video on a board called Azure Sphere, do you think this would be more applicable?
Don't know - have never heard of that one before.
