Arduino Nano stopped being recognized (Win XP)

Hi,
I have an arduino nano which worked fine for a month or two.

Suddenly (in a middle of a session, i.e the arduino was connected and working) I got error msg regarding reading from the serial port. It turns out the arduino stopped being recognized by windows as an (emulated) serial port. It is recognized as an 'unknown device'. I can't re-install the driver - I keep getting a msg saying there's no better match than the current driver.

The blue led is on, and the 'L' led also blinks if I press rst button.

Thinking I might have damaged the arduino in some way, I measured the 5V output and it read 3.1V.

Any ideas?
Is my usb controller dead :frowning:

Thanks.

Have sent it to Gravitech for examination & repair.
Will report any relevant stuff.

Problem solved.

Seems I've put some voltage into a digital pin which was configured as output, which means low input impedance -> large current ->

Send it to Gravitech, they fixed it for no charge (except for the cost of posting it back to me).

Ita.
