Arduino NodeMcu v3 Setup

Hey there i am a beginner seeking to build a fully functioning robot using the NodeMcu v3.
I am just soo confused and cant figure out how to setup the board, like connecting to wifi, downloading the driver.
I use a 2020 Macbook Pro
I want to code my DHT-11 Temperature and humidity sensor module to tell me on the IDE Software the temp and humidity, as a Test project.
