Arduino not detected in software

I am very new to sing this. But when I plug my Arduino Pro Micro it does not detect it in the software. When I go to the ports it just says COM 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and it will not show up. It is also not showing up in windows device manager when I go there (as far as I can tell). I am very sorry that there is not very much information but this is all I can tell.

In the picture I have just randomly selected COM 6

short Reset pin and GND and new port will appear for some seconds. select it. then after upload it will be new one assigned automatically.

I am very sorry to ask this but what does that mean I have to do

on the board you see some named holes. look for RST and GND. connect this two for short time and you will hearing "new device found" sound

Am I just to connect them with a jumper wire?

Yes!

The ProMicro requires a double-tap reset to get into bootloader mode. So @kolaha's reply actually requires you to short the reset pin twice in quick succession.

The ProMicro uses a microUSB connector; there are a lot of microUSB cables around that are charge-only and for that reason don't carry the data signals. You might have a cable like that if the double-tap reset does not work. If you have a phone that uses the same connector, you can test the cable as the phone should show up in Windows.
