Well, if that represents anything slightly resembling reality there are many issues.
A 9V battery is not suitable for driving motors. No caps on the regulator, which indeed will likely overheat when a motor is driven through it. Solderless breadboards can't carry much current and are thus unsuitable for connecting most motors. No filtering caps on the motor.
Other than that, the circuit itself is unclear as usual.
