I would like to ask for help regarding using Arduino as a way to turn on/off solar inverters. We have a solar inverter that we would like to turn on/off automatically by using Arduino and can be accessed via web. Is this thing possible? Can you help me on the materials needed for it to work along with the design and codes. Your suggestions and replies will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
If the inverter is connecting the solar panels to the electricity grid then you MUST get prior approval from your electricity utility to ensure the proper safeguards are in place to prevent someone being killed.
If the inverter is just for your own use then you need to explain how the inverter is normally turned on and off. I have an inverter (powered from 12v batteries) with a remote (wired) switch which could be replaced by a relay operated by an Arduino. The instructions that came with my inverter advise that it should be turned on and allowed to settle (when the green light comes on) before an AC load is connected to it.
