Hi there,
I am trying to replicate the tutorial on this page: https://docs.arduino.cc/tutorials/portenta-h7/creating-gui-with-lvgl
I tried three different USB hubs and it is getting expensive. The Portenta when connected as Host does not light on, on any other USB port it lights up, and can be reseted. Even Blinky works on every USB convention but not as host.
I want this tutorial to experiment with LVGL and it is the simplest method. If you have any other connection possibility of portents with a display, please share.
Thanks in advance.
Please share how are you connecting the USB-C Hub when your Portenta is connected as Host
Hi. I connect the host port of the USB-C to the Arduino. I then connect the Hub with power, using either the USB - C connector designated for power, or on another hub , the dc connector.
Please tell me if I did anything wrong. Would be much appreciated
Hello @omarfakhr
Can you share the USB-C hubs that you have?
I've had problems with several USB-C hubs too, i think its a problem on the hub's usb controller
Try to connect the power port of the USB-C Hub to a USB on your computer, it happened to me too that when I've conencted the USB-C Hub to a power converter, it didnt work (I guess different GNDs issue)
Let me know if it works.
hello @PMarquinez
thanks for the advice. It didn't work...
I connected the Portenta to the USB Hub, in the host port to the following hubs:
Satechi, Lemorele USB-C Hub, Lionwei USB Hub Active 3.1and San Zang. I tried to connect to power using, 5W, 10W, 20W Power supplies. The Portenta does not light any LED. I tried the same with a blinky Test and still does not turn on.
I also tried to turn the Portenta on using a power supply directly. interestingly the Portenta turned on with a power supply of 5W and i think 10W. The 20W left the Portenta off.
