Arduino post requests from php to .NET

Hello everyone…

I am working on a simple project with a temperature and humidity sensor, arduino and ethernet shield where the data taken from them, is sent to the mysql database using a php file.

My aim is to stop using php for handling post requests, but to do it with .NET

Has anybody else worked with something like this ? Can arduino send post requests to the webserver and them to be handled by a .NET application which after that sends them to a mysql database ?

Thank you in advance.

Can arduino send post requests to the webserver

Yes. That is what a GET or POST request does.

and them to be handled by a .NET application

The GET or POST request defines the name of the script/application/whatever to execute. If you have a .NET application that knows how to deal with POSTed data, then there is no problem.

which after that sends them to a mysql database ?

After what?

It seems unnecessary, though, to develop a Microsoft-based solution to talk to a non-Microsoft-based database application, when there is already a perfectly good process for doing that.

The reason for that is because i already have the connection with mysql, and i have all the stored data in mysql database..
