Arduino Pro IDE & Arduino M0 board issue

Have just received a M0 board and attempted to get it working with the debug facility provided by Arduino Pro. Thanks to folks working on the Pro development, I have learned the M0 board requires a CMSIS-DAP adapter and, the Zero & M0 Pro boards have the debug port built-in. So, should I buy the adapter or just buy a Zero?? Or maybe another more recent Arduino board with the debug port?

As far as adapters, my M0 board has a SWD(EDBG) connector (5x2 pins) but the pins are so close together the female dupont style hook-up wires are too large to fit so, do I need an adapter that comes with a specific cable to connect to it?

Any help would be appreciated here as I'm just getting in to this debug stuff. TIA...
