Hi,
Since the Arduino Pro Mini has an Atmega 32u4 processor, if I solder a usb plug directly to the gnd, vcc, D+, and D-, will I be able to program the pro mini through the usb plug just by sticking it into my mac's usb port? I don't want to hassle with jumper wires every time I program it.
Minis have 328s and pro micros have 32u4 in my experience. Are you sure it's a mini?
No .
Pro-Mini requires UUSB- to-TTL converter (Google that)
( and you will need to install the USB driver)
Try Googling FTDI converter.

Oh. Okay.
I just want something like the leostick.
the Leostick is not a Pro-Mini. The website says it is like a Leonardo ( hence the name "Leostick").
Furthermore, it SPECIFICALLY says you can plug it DIRECTLY into the USB port. Given that , it is a mystery why you posted.
