Hi , I have just bought an arduino pro mini 5v. I am getting this error while uploading

Sketch uses 924 bytes (3%) of program storage space. Maximum is 30720 bytes.

Using a FT232RL ftdi adaptor. The adaptor is working(new) and also returns the msg in com when the tx and rx pins are shorted.

Pls Help

picture of atmega chip

the writing is illegible in the camera and am barely able to make it out. I am only able to make out atmega328pb-u
The writing was clear before soldering.

Hold the reset button until the IDE output window shows the compile is complete and then release it.

picture of setup. may be you swapped TX/RX

i a diretly plugging the ftdi to the pro ini as the pins are lining up

ine has dtr pin in it. Do i still hae to do it?

If you in Windows, check the programmer connection to the computer:

Go to: Control panel / Device manager / about half way down on the left you will see:
Your programmer should be listed where I've drawn the red line.

It is listed as com 4 (or maybe port4 as i checked it yesterday). I had installed the ft232rl drivers for the purpose.

Do you have the serial monitor enabled? If so turn it off. Shut down the computer restart and and re-try.

No i dont hae it enabled. Also hae tried it with another pc. Same problem

please do excuse my typing. The botto row of y keyboard is not working. Will replae it soon.

Having two boards where both are bad are (likely) counterfeit of some sort. I've purchased maybe a dozen Pro Mini's from various eBay sellers and have never had a bad one. I could be lucky or you unlucky but I wouldn't give up yet.

Does the power LED on the ProMini light?

A close up photo of the board may allow the fellow forum members to see something. With connections.

The led on pin 13 never lights up, but the one showing the power does.

Try it, yes, yes you have to try that.

Will try it and tell the results

  • What happened when you tried the loop-back test on the FT232rl ?

I was able to send and receive msgs from serial monitor

:+1:

  • Am a bit concerned with the female header

  • Use an Ohmmeter to confirm all soldered connections.

Already done that (with multimeter).
In fact I do it for all my soldered connections
