When a servo is driven by a Pro Mini with the simple 180 degree sweep program example provided (// Sweep
// by BARRAGAN http://barraganstudio.com) it rotates only about 90 degrees.
When the same servo is driven by the Arduino Duemilanove using the identical program and setup, it rotates 180 degrees as "advertised".
The same thing happens if the write parameter for the servo is in microseconds instead of degrees.
This has been found for more than one Pro Mini.
It is as if the Pro Mini CANNOT supply the pulse widths necessary to get the full angular range the servo can give. This is a major shortcoming and makes the Pro Mini NOT equivalent to the other Arduino boards.
Has anybody got 180 degrees using Pro Mini? Is this a common problem that others have found? Is there a fix
Grrrrrrrrrrr! >:( Crossposted with http://www.arduino.cc/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1273349827. I know the OP couldn't tell if it was a hardware or a software problem originally (or was it an attempt at a 6 hr. "bump"??), but it still wastes people's time to post the exact same question in two threads. A followup question (now deleted) came into this thread after the OP had replied with an answer in the other thread.

It was mine. I decided not to waste my time given that there are responses on the other thread.
Yes, that was my point exactly, CB. Your question was posted here after the OP had supplied an answer for it in the other thread! I also saw the OP come and go after my second reply over there. You would think there would be a close-out from him as to whether or not that was his solution.
PLEASE don't let Peter Rand's behaviour discourage you. I've participated in many technical forums and, in my opinion, this really is a great place.
And I agree with you. It would be nice if more people followed up with either "yeah that worked" or "no, that wasn't it but this is what I found".
(speaking of which, there's a thread where I need to do just that; follow-up with aye or nay)
