Can anyone help me understand how to connect the arduino mini pro to the raspberry pi to send data from the connected sensors?
Pro mini Tx goes to Raspberry Rx.
Pro mini Rx goes to Raspberry Tx.
Pro mini GND connects to Raspberry GND.
The RPi is a 3.3v device and is not 5v tolerant on the inputs.
The Tx from the Pro mini must go through a level shifter or voltage divider to connect to the RPi Rx.
The Rpi Tx will typically be at voltage levels adequate for the Arduino Rx to recognize as high and low. However its possible that if the voltage on the RPi is low, it might not register as high.
A level shifter on both lines is not a bad idea.

Unless of course, you are using a 3.3 V Pro Mini which is powered at 3.3 V.
Thank you for the direction.
