Arduino R4 Wifi can't connect to Mac

I have a Mac running macOS Monterey Version 12.7.2 and a new Arduino Uno R4 Wifi. I can not connect the two, but I can connect the Arduino to Linux and Windows. I have determined it is not the USB port, since I can connect my other Uno R3s to my computer. Any help would be appreciated.

The Macs are sensitive to the quality of the USB C cable you use (and of course if it's not just a charge cable)

Thanks for the input. Unfortunately, I have already tested this. I have a USB C cable I use to program an ESP32 device. I tried this cable with the R4, and it doesn't even appear in the Arduino IDE.

OK... I don't have the UNO R4 WiFi.. From what I understand there should not be any need for a specific driver

Exactly, but for some reason, my computer refuses to recognize it. I can eventually pick it out in the terminal from a list of connected device vendors, but none of my IDEs recognize it or even say it is there.

hum - so the Mac does sees it but the IDE doesn't?

Make sure you have the necessary drivers installed for the Arduino Uno R4 WiFi on your Mac. Also change the cable to see if the issue still persists.

both points already discussed... Did you read the previous posts?

I'm sorry, but where can I get the drivers?

You can check the MAC OS part of this document here: https://support.arduino.cc/hc/en-us/articles/9670986058780-Update-the-connectivity-module-firmware-on-UNO-R4-WiFi

SOLUTION: Update uno r4

I have the exact problem on UNO R4 Minima connected to Mac via USBC-- USBC cable. apparently the UNO R4 minima does not have a pull down resistor on C lines that will enable the Mac to provide a 5 V power
