Issue with arduino rp2040 not recognizing the board in the arduino ide after using the C/C++SDK raspberry pi pico c/c++sdk hello world download I did this and I thought I broke my board because I couldn’t download sketches anymore in the arduino ide. My board was coming up as unknown and on a com port 13 which wasn’t normal and i couldn’t do anything even when I tried the Rec to gnd. It would come up like it was a pico rp1-rp2. So I wrote arduino to see if they could help me but I ended up fixing it my self. I thought maybe if I downloaded the pico board in the boards manager in the arduino ide it might at least let me be able to load sketches as a pico board. So I downloaded the mbed os rp2040 boards. and raspberry pi pico/rp2040 boards. and the deprecated install stand alone arduino mbed os boards. So after I did that and I plugged my board back in it was recognize right away as arduino not unknown and it went back to com port 4 like it was before and now I can write sketches again. So now if this happens to anyone else just download all the board packages I did in board manager and hopefully if you’re having the same issue I had it will fix it for you.

Reset your board following the steps recommended at https://support.arduino.cc/hc/en-us/articles/4404168794514-Nano-RP2040-Connect-not-being-detected-on-USB-port and then use Arduino IDE 2.0 RC (2.0.0-rc9.2)
Oh thank you so much lol that worked lol should have just asked first. funny how its Always easier if you just wait after asking, instead of having to come up with your own way to get around the issue lol. Well that’s life living as a human some learn the right way but others learn the hard way. I wonder which one of them respects and accepts the outcome more. Lol well thanks anyway aside from my ponderings, I will take this lesson by making sure I search and read more thoroughly. I’m not sure if I should take my original post of how I did it down. I don’t want someone to do it the wrong way.
I’m not the best with writing lol. I should have stayed in school where they teach you that. I wonder if there is a class for respect and understanding, to help be a kind human being that doesn’t look to make fun of others because there writing doesn’t meet expectations
