Arduino sample rate

Hi all!

I am not sure this enters the 'programming questions' category so I'll say sorry now :)

Does anyone know anything about arduino sample rate limits? how consistent are they (how consistent is the delay) and what is the fastest sample rate that is consistently achievable?

Sampling what? Analog? Digital? Serial?

I want an answer for every single one XD

Maximum analogue sample rate (using only Arduino constructs) is about 9500 samples per second. Maximum digital (again, using only Arduino constructs) is probably a couple of hundred kHz. Maximum serial...is a bit of a silly question, because it is all handled by the UART.

However, all these values are tweakable (you could read eight digital inputs in less time than it takes to read a single bit using only Arduino), and could not be guaranteed if operated simultaneously.
