Arduino Seems Suddenly Underpowered

I hadn't used my Arduino for a month or two when I put together a simple blink project to show a friend how it works. I noticed the LED I used was pretty dim, so I tried another. Same result. Then I got a rangefinder for Christmas and put together a test project. It works, but again, any LED I used was very dim, and the piezo element I added was very quiet. I tried with USB power and a 9v battery and I get the same result.

Anyone has this issue or know a solution?

Are the resistors you're using too strong? For 2V forward voltage LEDs (most of your average red LEDs), I usually use 330 Ohm resistors.

Just checked my part box compartment for my 1Ks and it looks like a couple 10Ks got mixed in there somehow. Facepalm. Now I feel stupid.

easy enough to do, get some incandescent lighting maybe make it night time and that orange sure does look red
