with my project involving an Arduino shield v.1, it has uploaded properly, but the motors don't work, maybe because of the manner in which I cut the vin line in the shield. How should it be done?
What arduino shield? How did you cut the vin line and why?
Pictures and links will help us understand what you are doing.

It should be done the right way.
You've posted 48 times and still don't understand that your question is about as accurate as "how tall is a tree"?
this is the picture of the hack that has been done to the vin area of that motor shield that has to be done. What needs to be doen to make the shield work?
I can't tell anything from that picture. Perhaps step back an inch or two?
What's the hack you have done? may some thing in writing can relate to that picture. Also what this shield does? Your question is so vague.
Also please use the image tag in the post.
vauge question = vauge answer
Maybe has to connect the external power to the wall
RTFM
ALWAYS (always) post a link to the shield you are using -and- where you bought it from.
When referring to IC/chips.. ALWAYS include a link to the datasheet.
basically HELP US HELP YOU!..
