Arduino sms status back

Hello

I want to make a pool status thing with arduino.
My idea is to send an SMS to an arduino with GSM shield and write for example “status”
then it should send me the water level and temprature back. Is that possible?
Also I will do something that if the water is below x level, open the water valve.

Is this possible?

Yes, that's entirely within the realm of an Arduino with 3G shield (or add-on modem), and a bunch of sensors.

Careful of your hardware & wiring setup, as chlorinated or salt water does bad things to electronics.
